Hans Degryse is hoogleraar Financiën aan het departement Accountancy, Financiën en Verzekeringen van de KU Leuven. Hij is onderzoeker bij CEPR, CESIfo, het European Banking Center (EBC), SUERF en TILEC.  Voor hij in 2012 naar Leuven kwam, was hij hoogleraar financiën aan Tilburg University.  Zijn onderzoek richt zich op financiële intermediatie, waaronder empirisch bankieren en theoretische en empirische marktmicrostructuur. Hij is lid van het Advisory Scientific Committee (ASC) van het European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) (vanaf augustus 2024) en senior onderzoeksadviseur bij de ECB.

Hij heeft gepubliceerd in tal van tijdschriften, waaronder de American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Review of Finance, Journal of Financial Intermediation, en de Economic Journal, en deze werden gepresenteerd op toonaangevende internationale conferenties, zoals de American Finance Association, de Western Finance Association, de European Finance Association, en de Financial Intermediation Research Society. Hij is co-auteur, samen met Moshe Kim en Steven Ongena, van het leerboek Microeconometrics of Banking: Methods, Applications and Results gepubliceerd door Oxford University Press.  

Momenteel is hij associate editor van de International Review of Finance, de Journal of Banking and Finance en de Journal of Financial Stability. In het verleden was hij associate editor voor de Review of Finance.

Peter Devlies begon zijn professionele loopbaan in 1998 bij McKinsey&Company en vervoegde in 2004 Dexia Bank Belgium (nu Belfius), waar hij verschillende directeurs­functies opnam en van 2008 tot 2010 directeur commerciële marketing werd voor retail, affluent, private en business klanten.

Daarna zette hij zijn loopbaan verder bij Bank J. Van Breda & C°, waar hij van 2010 tot 2013 de rol opnam van Chief Operations Officer en van 2014 tot 2016 van Chief Financial Officer.

Die functies combineerde hij met de functie van CEO van Van Breda Car Finance (2010 tot 2016) en CEO van ABK Bank (2011 – 2016).

In 2016 stapte hij over naar Axa Bank Belgium, waar hij de rol opnam van CEO tot einde 2021.

Sinds januari 2023 is Peter Devlies CEO van Argenta.

Jo Swyngedouw is Head of the Financial Stability, Prudential Policy and AML Supervision Department at the National Bank of Belgium (NBB). The department develops prudential policy for banks, monitors financial stability and supervises the compliance of the anti-money laundering provisions of the financial institutions. Before joining the NBB on 1 April 2011, Jo was deputy director of the prudential policy department of the former CBFA.

Jo studied law and economics (M.A.) at the K.U. Leuven (Belgium) and is lecturer at the University of Antwerp.

Jo has a long-standing experience in prudential supervision and is member of several international prudential committees and fora.

Since the inception of the European Banking Authority (EBA), Jo is alternate or member (since 2013) of the Board of Supervisors, was member of the Management Board and since July 2018 he is Vice-Chairman of EBA. In that capacity, Jo acted as interim Chairperson of the EBA in the period January until May 2019. Since February 2020, Jo is Chair of the EBA Standing Committee on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the financing of Terrorism (AMLSC).

Jo is also alternate member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and member of the Risk and Vulnerabilities Assessment Group (since 2020) and among others, he was previously alternate member of the Supervisory Board of the ECB (2014-2017) and chair of the working group on ‘internal governance and remuneration’ of CEBS/EBA (2009-2014).       

Jo is also member (since its inception in 2017) of the Belgian Board for Supervision of External Auditors (College van toezicht op de bedrijfsrevisoren/Collège de supervision des réviseurs d’entreprise), representing the NBB.
